"In his book, THE CHEMISTRY OF THE BLOOD, M.R. DeHaan, founder of the Radio Bible Class, notes that in saying 'God is light,' the biblical authors are telling us something about the Trinity. A scientific analysis of sunlight reveals that it consists of three kinds of rays:

1. Chemical rays or actinic. These rays are invisible and can neither be seen or felt.
2. Light rays. These rays can be seen but never felt.
3. Heat rays. These rays are felt but never seen."

APPLICATION

"DeHaan writes, 'God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. We know the Godhead consists of Three Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father corresponds to the chemical rays of sunlight; No man hath seen God at any time. The Son, who is the light of the world, corresponds to the light rays, the One whom we can see but not felt. The Holy Spirit corresponds to the heat rays, since He is felt in the lives of believers but never seen.'"

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. We know the Godhead consist of Three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father corresponds to the chemical rays of sunlight; No man hath seen God at any time. The son, who is the light of the world, corresponds to the light rays, the One whom we can see … The Holy Spirit corresponds to the heat rays, since He is felt in the lives of believers but never seen.”

M. R. DeHaan, M.D. (1891-1965) was an American Bible teacher, pastor, author, and physician. Founder of Radio Bible Class. His simple granite gravestone, testifies of that great truth which he so keenly believed and fervently broadcast around the world: ...The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven ... and the dead in Christ shall rise... 1 Thess. 4:16 PERHAPS TODAY!

APPLICATION

Go ahead, step into the Light where you can experience the full spectrum of the three members of the Godhead—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5).

One of the most interesting observations about the Trinity was made by the British theologian, Dr. Geoffrey King. He observed that God has identified Himself with three birds in the Bible, each one teaching us something of His care and concern for us.

God the Father is like an eagle. He majestically cares for us (Exodus 19:4; Deuteronomy 32:11, Isaiah 40:31)
God the Son is like a hen. He longs to guard and protect us like a hen her chicks (Matthew 23:37)
God the Holy Spirit is like a dove. He wants to descend on us with power and purity (Matthew 3:16)
